Set the scale on a flat surface, put your bowl on it, press tare to zero out the weight, then add each ingredient by weight — hitting tare again between them to weigh straight into one bowl. Weighing is faster and far more accurate than cups, especially for flour and for baking.
Recommended Bowl on, tare to zero, add by weight, tare again for the next ingredient — work in grams and mind the max — A scale measures by weight, which is more accurate and repeatable than volume, because a cup of flour can vary 20% by how it's packed — so baking especially comes out consistent. Put the scale on a level, solid surface (a soft or tilted one throws it off), set your mixing bowl or plate on top, and press tare to subtract that container's weight and read zero. Add the first ingredient to its target weight, press tare again to re-zero, and add the next straight into the same bowl — you can weigh a whole recipe in one dish with almost no cleanup. Work in grams for precision (switch units with the button), and watch two limits: the scale's maximum capacity, and its minimum readable amount, since most home scales can't accurately weigh a gram or two of yeast or salt — use measuring spoons for those. Keep it dry, don't overload it, and change the battery when the readings start to drift.
