Overview
The chairlift is an open chair with a bar, running low over gardens and terraces where people are working, which is half the pleasure of it. The summit is a bare grassy shoulder with a bar and a ruined fortification, and on a clear day the view takes in the Amalfi coast, the Sorrentine peninsula and Vesuvius. Cloud sits on the top often enough that it is worth going the moment the weather is good rather than saving it.
Highlights
Ride up and walk down: the path through the Cetrella hermitage takes about an hour and is the quiet side of the mountain. Take a jacket, since the chair is exposed and the summit is several degrees colder than the marina. The last ride down is early in winter, and the staff will tell you the hour when you buy.
