Overview
The French established a hill station here in 1919 to escape the coastal heat, and it was abandoned after independence; the present complex was built from 2007 on the ruins, and none of what you see is old. The Golden Bridge opened in 2018 and the hands were designed to look weathered from the start. At 1,487 metres the hills are usually in cloud, which is the point of the place and also why the view is often nothing at all.
Highlights
Go on a clear morning and go early; by midday the bridge is shoulder to shoulder. Bring a jacket — it is ten degrees cooler than Da Nang. The cable car ticket covers everything, and the theme park rides are included rather than extra.
