Overview
Michel Corajoud designed it as part of the riverfront’s transformation from a working dock to a promenade, and it works on a cycle: fill, mirror, drain, mist. Children run in it all summer and the city treats it as a fountain rather than a monument. It is switched off in winter and for maintenance.
Highlights
Wait for the mirror phase for the classic reflection of the Place de la Bourse; the fog phase is the better one to stand inside. Sunset gives the warmest stone and the calmest water. The tram runs along the edge, so it is easy to reach and easy to leave.
