Overview
The coves are rock and coarse sand rather than a long beach, and the clarity comes from a seagrass meadow of Posidonia offshore — a protected species that also explains why boats cannot anchor freely here. Sunset draws several hundred people to the rocks in season, and the beach bars price accordingly. Out of season it is close to empty and just as good.
Highlights
Arrive an hour before sunset for a place on the rocks, or come at nine in the morning for the water at its stillest. Bring shoes you can walk on rock in — the entries are stone, not sand. Buses from Sant Antoni and Ibiza Town run in season; parking fills by eleven.
