Overview
The clay warriors wear cross-collar robes closed to the right, some knee-length, over trousers, with layered lamellar armor for combat. Caps, topknots and armor mark rank, and traces of bright paint show the figures were once vividly colored.
Key garments and style
The Qin favored black as the honored court color, following the cosmology of the Five Elements. Dress and measures were standardized along with writing and coinage.
Transition
The Han inherited these forms and elaborated them into the classic hanfu.
