In many regions tanned hide and fur clothing continued, while in dry areas plaited plant-fibre sandals, belts and bags were made. Shell, stone and bone were used for ornament.

Transition

In the Formative period, as cotton growing and weaving began in Mesoamerica, woven dress flowered.
